new to the Quattro

I just got a Quattro(former Explorer owner) and was pleased to see that the Quattro allows me to reject modern pulltab without missing nickels.
My Explorer wouldn't,I could barely get a signal on a nickel because of similar conductivity of the two.

I also use a Sovereign and they are killers on nickels.

Will be hitting the beaches around Daytona soon and any tips on beach settings would be appreciated.

thanks,

Brent-MIch

Wow, that's a fascinating post. I had to edit that post because I felt I was coming on too strong in my response. I'm amazed that the Quatro would tell the difference between a nickel and a pulltab, but the Explorer didn't seem to do it for you. I would have thought just the opposite, because I know the Explorer has two numeric readouts, one for ferrous and one for conductivity, but that doesn't necessarily mean it could tell the difference between the two on that one, and furthermore, I've never used the Explorer personally, so I better keep my trap shut. I am glad you like the Quatro, I don't think you'll be dissappointed in your choice. I think I remember talking to Mike from VA, quite a while back where I thought he could tell the difference too. For some reason, even in the Ferrous audio, I can't seem to tell the difference, but I'm gonna work on it. If Mike say's it can be done, I believe it. Well, welcome aboard, and hope you enjoy the new Quatro.:|

And you won't regret it Brent. Lots of great finds have been detected using it. The Sovereign is also a great no fuss machine. A few of my friends own one and do very well. By the way, welcome to the forum!

Hi Brent, welcome and I am glad your happy with the Quattro. I almost like it more than the SE. I have the Coiltek Platypus on it and really is a very nice addition. So happy hunting and enjoy Brent.

Hi Brent
I don't do much beach hunting but I've heard the Quattro really shines at the beach. I think you'll be very pleased, this machine is awesome. Make sure you post pictures of all that gold jewelry you'll be finding. Good luck.

Hey Guys, thanks much for all the replies, seems like a very friendly/helpful group.
Some forums aren't that way.

Well I'll be hitting the beaches aboutDec.29th for 10 days or so.
This isn't the best time of year, but we usually make some good finds.
Thanks again and I'll let you know if we have some luck.
Happy Holidays to all and a great 2007!

lol
