I just recently purchased a Bounty Hunter for my boyfriend for father's day.We have found a few interesting things but we find more trash than anything. I don't know very much about metal detecting and definitely would like to learn more.Does anyone have any tips?

Welcome to the BH Board. So what model of BH did you get for the Boyfriend and what kind of Detecting are you guys looking at doing?

Besides doing research here, take a look at a web site called Metal Detecting World dot com. I think you will find a great deal of helpful information and theory there as well to help you guys out. Don't be discouraged by the Trash. All of us at one time or another had to learn from dig all and sometimes some of us still do it just to not miss anything. :detecting:

Like any other hobby there is a bit of a learning curve to metal detecting. Check out the site listed above and the archives as was also suggested. Youtube and other such sites usually have tons of videos on metal detector use. Just put in your particular model number in the search box "Bounty Hunter Tracker 4", etc......Take your time, keep at it, don't get discouraged, and most important keep getting out and using that detector. The "good" finds will come it just takes a little time to learn what the detector is telling you. I wish you and your boyfriend the best of luck and happy hunting. Keep us up to date and I bet in no time at all you will posting about a nice ring or old coin you have found. Above all else remember "have fun!".
