This is the first time I have ever joined a form so I need to learn how all this works... Anyway. I would like to find a local group or someone to go detecting with who would be willing to show me the ropes. Thanks to Lightstryder who I met in Monterey last weekend for telling me about this form.

How do, Wicked?

Welcome to the obsession... :detecting:

Hey Wicked, I was wondering if you would make it. It was good talking with you. Send me a message the next time you make it down this way and we can do some hunting. Good to have you, you won't be disappointed as I told you. There are some great people on this forum and very knowledgable. Good luck, message me anytime.

I'm in Salinas, where you at?

Here's some resources for you: There's 3 montly brick & mortor clubs (that I know of), in your area. There's the San Jose club (http://waipahuhaole1.tripod.com/treasurehunters.html), then there's a club in Concord (don't know their monthly times, etc...), and a club in San Bruno.

As for regional specific forum, there's the kinzli forum (which is what I think jerr696 was alluding to). Several bay area folks chime in there.

I'm in Salinas, but love to hunt SF parks whenever I get up that way. As built up as SF is, yet there's oodles of grass and green belts interspersed in the urbran sprawl. Various old-town demolitions have produced some fun hunts.
