Hi Folks,
New to the forums here and enjoy reading them! Also new to detecting, I got a Whites MXT 300 a few weeks ago, and just got the 10 2d coil with White's 99.00 offer. I haven't found much yet, a few newer coins and a 1944 wheat penny. I did discover that there must have been a Reynolds Foil factory here on our property!! I really thought I got lucky once, but dug up a buckle size squashed pie tin at about 8" deep.......lol...I'll keep diggin'! Located just West of Winchester, Va, near Gore, Va (No relation to "AL", thank God) :) Everyone have a Merry Christmas!!

PS. Tomorrow is my first real hunt. Hopefully I'll have something to talk about! I wonder if I could hook up my better-half's hair dryer to a 12v battery to defrost the ground some? This plastic beach shovel/pail combo may not hold up...:)

Thanks everyone for the welcome! I did find a round ball on my hunt on Saturday! Also a few things that I've yet to identify, and some really deep horseshoes. The D2 coil on the MXT seemed to work fine and pinpoints nice for this rookie.

Happy Huntin'
