Welcome! Where you going to be hunting? If you're new to the hobby, make sure you put in a coin garden to fine tune your ears, swing speed and machine.

Looking forward to seeing what you unearth.

Hi guys, thank's for the warm welcom, I got my etrac in the early fall, as with any hobby I take up, I do tons of research and try my best to excel at it. In that short time I have found alot of clad, counted the quarters last nite, had 384 clad quarters, havn't counted them, but looks like about 600 clad dimes, and alot of pennys. the good stuff is 26 mercs, 8 rosies, 5 washington silver quarters, 3 colonial coppers, one is a 1787 mass half cent, one large cent, hundreds of wheats, 7 silver rings, and one very old gold faced scrolled pocket watch, that my local jewler said was from the 1800's. I cant seem to find much for gold, and when on a stretch for a week or so I dug all pull tab like signals to maybe find a gold ring but no luck, it's been mostly park hunting, maybe there isn't any gold there. I am trying to get the hang of TTF and I cant seem to find anything, most of my close go to spots are pretty much hunted out in conduct, I was hoping to get a few I missed, due to being masked by heavy iron or trash, I wonder if it would be better with a sunray x1 probe,I have a garret and a minelab probe, I never can seem to find my good target in the hole, any tips on TTF would be great, and again thanks for the welcome.

Hi Goes4ever, I was hoping you might reply I had not seen that post, but have been to your site many times before joining this forum, and researched your TTF method. There is a old park with a food stand and in front of that area I have pulled out 8 or so mercs and in another park that was a big drinking spot in the 70's I have pulled out a few. Both of thes places are full of trash, the second place the mercs were between two old steel rusted beer caps, theres thousands of them there, and I am sure many silvers too.The first place I have gotten all I can in conduct, and the second place is almost imposible to hunt in conduct, I just got lucky on the two I found, got a peep and came in from another direction. I purchased a sunray X5 5 inch coil, as I figured it would give me better seperation, I run the machine a little on the HOT side at times, I didn't see any mention on sensitivity in you post, when ever I got a high tone, it was pretty short, compared to the iron tone, even with a slow swing, I used the relic screen set up with TTF. I must admit that I have only tried it about a half dozen times, and then would go back to conduct, as I thought I was spining my wheels and wasting productive hunting time, every time I cut a plug, I found some iron, and seemed to lose the good target, these where deep 7 to 9 inches, I think I was about 24 man, wich seems to work good in that area in conduct, is it to hot for TTF??? I need to work with it some more, just wondered if there was trick to it I wasn't doing, thanks again to all.
