New to the Forum and wanted to show my finds for the day

I have been detecting for a couple of years using a MXT.
Bought a V3i and have been having fun finding the items others are leaving behind.
Thought I would show the finds I found that were masked by iron.
The ones in the picture that have a iron oxidation on them were on edge about 6" down.
The V picked them out with no problems. I am using a 6x10 coil. And I use Stereo Mixed Mode in Best Data. The nickels were another problem.
The VDIs were all over the place. The ones that lay ed flat were reading normal. But the ones on edge were looking like trash.
The reason I dug them is because they had a solid tone to them. I usually go more by tone then VDI.
Anyway I am due for a Gold Ring. :detecting:
The Pin has "South Bay Swim League Championships" on it. The squished penny has "Wildlife Safari" on it.

Good job... The other day i found a nickle on edge and i had a -5 vdi. Nickles can read all over in my neck of the woods too.

[size=large]and here i thought it was me. nickels are all over and pennies aren't coming in as normal either. i just found out my coin garden can't be found by my v3i. my garrett struggles but still finds some of it. must have sunk. have ordered the 6x10 and hope it can overcome this very high mineral ground and comensate for my lack of some skill.

Welcome Oregonvic! Where are you in OR?

Widebody.....how old is your garden?

Good to hear you are doing well Vic. The 6x10 coil is not known for it's depth. Glad you are doing well with it. It is more for hunting in trash where separation is more important then depth. Keep up the good work. It's always nice to see finds.

As far as nickels, I always find them in hunted out parks because they are not found by as many people who detect. My nickels are usually red like yours due to the iron in my ground.

[attachment 267668 wantsyou.jpg] You might want to let Widebody know your Ground Probe readings to see how your ground compares.
