A big thank you to findmall user "Meditech" for introducing me to the forum and twisting my rubber arm into making the switch from the Xterra-70 to the Etrac.
Congrats and welcome to the forum. I'm looking forward to your stories and seeing all of the great stuff you're going to find. The E-Trac is a silver killer and you're going to love it. Let us know if you have any questions. You should buy Andy Sabisch's book titled The Minelab Explorer & E-Trac Handbook. It's a must read for all E-Trac owners.

Thanks folks, and thank you for the tip about the book. Everyone seems to say it is a must read. I'm off to Ebay right now to see if I can find it. Kellyco had one on for cheap, but they want faaaar too much to ship to Canada.
I don't have any questions at the moment... but I'm sure I will soon enough. This emulator sure did help in learning how to move around menus.
A lil over two yrs ago I switched from the x-70 to the etrac and the learning curve was almost non existent, because I was already using multi tone, and digging mostly by sound anyhow. You made a wise move and you should learn the etrac very quickly

I was wondering if that was the case. That's great news! When I did manage to hear Meditech's Etrac tones, they sounded familiar (like the 99 tone action I get with the Xterra). I'm glad that I have somewhat of a trained ear.
