New to Relic Hunting- What type cartridge is this?

First of all, I grew and still live within a stones throw from Civil War breastworks near Buzzards Roost. I recently purchased a new Garrett 250 pro. I spent a couple of hours at our church grounds getting use to sounds and the operations of the detector. I am all new to this so bare with me. A friend of mine and myself ventured up the mountain towards the breastworks. We spent 2-3 hours on this ridge apparently trying to find relics that probably did not exists because of being heavily hunted. WRONG! Only to find a couple of things that I think are Civil War era. Please help a newbie out.
What are these?? I know what a penny is, I am using it for reference.

Regards,

SSharp

Based on the firing pin impression and size, you found a .52 caliber Spencer rifle/carbine 56-56 cartridge which since you were so close to the "action" was probable Civil War vintage.

Happy Hunting
