New to Relic Hunting -- Need CW target matrix for the CTX please!

I have been detecting for about 15 years, but most of my time has been spent at the beach and coinshooting. I recently obtained approval from a local land owner here in VA to detect the 1500 acre farm that has been in the family for over 100 years. Its been raining a LOT here recently, so needless to say the corn fields are basically mud. Nevertheless, I took about 30 minutes when I was with the owner to check out an area where he said Grant camped for a while during the war. I turn on the CTX3030, take two steps - BANG 12/36 - three ring bullet - first signal. Over the next 25 minutes, in between talking about the capabilities of the CTX, I found 6 more bullets - 7 total! All but one was damaged by plowing, but I am still very excited about the prospects....

Does anyone have a Target ID (TID) spreadsheet for an e-Trac or CTX3030 that might help me know where buttons, buckles, various bullets and other Civil War items register? Thanks in advance...

Relic hunting is about like beach hunting, you pretty much want to dig it all, even the small iron. There are so many sizes of bullets, they can come in about everywhere and that is just the bullets.

I agree with Larry. I have found in my ground down here in Tennessee which has a lot of red clay that ground coin works better than ferrous coin. I mostly run in auto +3 and the targets come in I want to say cleaner using ground coin and seems to get a little better depth also. Do dig small iron signals, could be cannister balls, barrel bands stirrups ect. the CTX will find relics. HH :minelab:

I love the CTX for relics! Those minies are great, even though the plow tried to eat them. You should be able to find a TID sheet in the CTX Resource Forum.

Thanks for the feedback. I eventually plan to dig all signals - my curiosity always gets the best of me. I want a TID spreadsheet so that I can make an informed guess about what is under the coil before I actually dig it. May sound strange, but its almost like a game. Sometimes I'm right and quite often I am not.

If you can't find anything on the Resource Forum, send me a mwssage and I can type you up spmething quick.
