New to MXT forum

I'm not sure where the noob's go but if this is the wrong place please move it .
I have been Metal detecting for awhile mostly with a Ace 250 then about 6 months ago bought a MXT and I love it . Have several coils for it but my new 6x10DD is my favorite one . I have a short story coming out next month on White's web page about a 14K gold cross I found and later the silver chain that it was on . My Avatar is my universal avatar I earned the avatar in a contest I was in last year .

Thanks everyone

Welcome, I like the 6X10 for my main "go to" coil also. The MXT is a great machine I know you'll enjoy it.

It's nice to have you here on the MXT forum, there is allot of great people and knowledge here. I also like and use the 6 X 10 as my # 1 coil................. I will be looking for your short story on Whites site................:clapping:

Hello Bear,

Welcome to the forum. This is the best MXT forum I've found, the camaraderie around here is awesome. If you don't already have it Jeff Foster has an excellent book "The MXT Edge".

I also look forward to reading your story when it comes out.

This is where the noob's go, welcome to the forum and congratulations on the cross and story.

Thanks folks for the friendly welcome . Don't expect to exciting a story its short with a couple pictures , but I am no author so pretty plain story got me a 100 dollar gift certificate anyway . I think it is suppose to be in Septembers issue but not positive on that it was submitted in August .
Also I do already have the Jeff Foster book its a great book and I reread it often to refresh my memory of some of his ideas . Here is a picture of the two items in my story .The gold & silver cross is marked 14k and the chain which it took a little over a week for me to locate is marked .925 silver , also the chain is 17 inches long .
Thanks again everyone .

Nice find Harold. Where are you located? I've got another story that they will use in Sept. I think I wrote the last one in June, so you never know how soon they will take to use it. She will send an E mail before they use it. My story is about Larry, Nancy and I finding 300+ quarters in one week end. Rob

Welcome aboard Bear! You found the right place and there's a lot of great people here that have used the MXT for many years. Congrats on the cross and chain. :clapping: Let us know when it comes out! So, how many pull-tabs did you have to find to get the avitar? Like Rob (rcasio44) asked, where are you located? We're glad you stopped in! Happy Hunting to all, Nancy

Thanks everyone , I am located in Chillicothe, Missouri . I have found a few good things , wheat's , war nickel and about 650 clad coins so far this year . Also musket ball and lots of toy cars so far . I don't hunt to hard due to being 61 and in poor health but enjoy getting out when I can . I really don't remember how many pull tabs I did have but when the contest was over I had a gallon bag about full . For the contest we had to post our points and pictures of the finds to go with it . I was in it as a rookie so I got 1/4 point for each pull tab I posted plus any coins I dug , score was done according to preset up points system . I could of dug alot more pull tabs than I did but didn't think it would look good if all I posted was pull tabs so limited myself for each posting . I was hunting a old unused fair ground at that time .Might add last year I dug a front door knob set in a park that has been dated back to 1890 .I will post a picture of them outside was bronze and inside had black glass knob on it . I might also add the Avatar was designed for me by a friend that detects from New zealand , his name is Siggi .

Welcome Bear!!

You sound like me; my first detector was the Ace 250 and then I bought the MXT. I still use the Ace though.
Its a nice little machine. You'll learn alot at this forum. Hope we see some of your finds posted.

Nice knobs! I had to say it! Seriously... those are neat finds. I would have loved to see the house that they were on. I had to look up Chillicothe, MO. We've got a Chillicothe, IL close by where we use to slip our boat. Thanks for the picture and story. HH to all, Nancy

Well whites posted there storys for september, but mine wasn't in there yet so guess it will not be till next month really not sure when they are putting it in now .

Cari Brewer from White's should let you know via Email when it will be published. Be patient, it will be posted. HH, Nancy

Welcome, I too am new to forum and have only owned an Mxt for a short while. I have the standard 950 with little experience which equals not much found. I just got Jeff Fosters book so am hoping to improve. Enjoy hearing from other users and their experiences. Will help me greatly. I'm living in Tellico Plains, Tn

Well I'm also a new MXT owner.I have been detecting for about 40 yr but have all ways owned Garret and Fishers, never have owned a Whites. I'm looking forward to trying the MXT. It has the 9.5 coil and a 5.3 Eclipse. Maybe we can all learn it together. Should be here in 5-7 days.
