NEW TO MTing

Hello everyone, I am absolutely stoked. I have been looking at all these utube videos regarding MTing, me thinks I have the bug! I have been researching and just bought my first MT and I am itchin to go out and use it. It is a Whites Quantum XT with a Deep Scan 950 coil, is that standard issue with that unit or had someone changed the coil out? It is in VERY nice condition, bought it from an old guy in Sun City, AZ for $150 do you think that was an OK price for that unit? I live in Phoenix and was just wondering the rules regarding MTing in the river and washes in AZ? Any advice from all you would be appreciated. Thanks!

$150 is a good price on the QXT. The Deep Scan 950 is the standard coil for your detector. I suggest you attend one of the local detecting clubs. There you will meet others with the same addiction and you'll also learn what you need to know on where you can and cannot hunt. There is a Club based out of Tempe but they meet monthly in Phoenix. I think it's call Arizona Treasures Unlimited. There is also a club that meets in Apache Junction, Superstition West Treasure Hunters. I club is a great way to meet folks that can help you get started and show you how to get the most out of your machine. You can PM me if you'd like more info. I'm in Mesa
