Hi Simpleman.
John gave some great pointers. Pity for your sake he's bailing out of your area.
There is a tonne of places to hunt in. It comes down to how good your imagination is. Here's a few to get you started. Beaches, school's, bus stops, parks' fairgrounds, swimming holes, public pools, old dancing halls, vacant lots, trailer parks, flea markets, camping sites, boat ramps, lover's lanes, any site that has had any sort of out door gathering, under the cloths line, around sporting fields (particularly along side lies, under bleachers, under fences and any convenient shade close to a playing field), race tracks, places where illegal gambling took place away from the prying eyes of the law, any historical home in your area (you could offer to cut their lawn in exchange for the opportunity(that's been done before)), ghost towns eta. I think that you might be getting the idea by now. Just remember, a lot of the places that have mentioned above, will require you to get permission to hunt there. If you are game enough to simply ask, you will be surprised at how often you will be granted permission. Always treat that trust with respect and if somebody says no, then at least you will not be wondering about it's potential anymore, or you may find something that you can offer in exchange for the opportunity. Again; it just comes down to your imagination as to how you approach things.
Good luck and post your finds. Sharing your experiences on the forum can be fun too.
Mick Evans.
