New to me Xterra 705

New member
I got me an Xterra 706, now to learn and go search.
I have a place that I will hunt in the morning and will report how I do , could be interesting to see what I find.

So, I don't know if you've had other detectors or are new to the hobby but I've had so many detectors over the years and other than a Groundhog in the very early 80s the 705 has been my favorite so far.
Hope you enjoy yours! Looking forward to your finds.

Thanks , have had a few. I own an Explorer XS a Go Find 60 ad just traded a gold bug2 for the 705.
In the past I have had a GMT ,MXT and XLT.....I think I will like the versatility of the 705

Thanks, I got out a little bit today but am waiting to hunt the local tot lots on the weekdays.

Azdigger, if you use disc for tot lots, don't use pattern 2. I found it wasn't picking up my gold wedding band.

Having been used to your ExplorerXS azdigger, you should have no problems getting used to the 705.
Looking forward to hearing which Tone settings you like on 705 and how you find MultiTone and if it suits you. So let us all know.
Best of luck....

Its best to set up each of the 4 program modes to suit your hunting requirments. Program 2 I opened up all segments except the neg numbers. If you don't do this, you will miss many old coins. I also open up 48 because silver dollars and 1oz. Silver rounds come in at 48 much of the time. I will guarantee you will miss these silver targets if you don't open up 48.

I will take that tip to heart....I have just been using preset #4 to hunt in...coins.... only made one hunt so far, not long just got it..
