i got to tell you.. i find the manual little hard to figure out! i am new to this kind of detector.. little different to my white classic idx that i bought few years back. i need help setting up mt at pro. i looked at most you tube videos and still very little help. what it the easiest way besides going into a field full of junk and start detecting? i started with glueing coins and junk targets on paint sticks to get used to the sound of the target.. after i was done i went out in the field and it seems nothing like when i bench tested using the paint sticks.

What type of hunting are you going to do, and where? I had never used a Garrett detector before either, and was concerned that I would'nt be able to get used to it. I now would'nt trade it! I got mine in December, and since then have found (5) rings. 3 of them gold. I hunt for coins and rings. I tried different modes and settings, but settled on Pro-custommode,, and 1 notch out between 50 and 60. Iron discrimination at 35. I live in Texas. The soil is rocky, and mineralized. I am well pleased with my settings. It might be a place for you to start. Good Luck!

For your first time. Set it in factory Pro coin mode. Iron audio ON. Set Ground balance and dig all the clean beeps. Don't make it more complicated with adjustments.
