Hi folks. My wife and I have decided to venture into treasure hunting. There is a Garrett GTAx 550 for sale locally for $250.00. Would this be a good starter. Eventually I know I will want to go along the local river so I was looking at the AT Pro as well. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Mike

Welcome Mike, I would buy a ace250 because that's a little high for older detectors, I use the ace350 and love it, so the choice is yours, GL hank

The ace250 is cheaper than 250$ I think around 212.00 with a warranty

Turn back now before its too late! Why dontcha send me a couple hundred bucks, I'll toss some rotten clads out in your front yard, and we'll call it a day? Really though, big congratulations on giving this sport a try..:clapping:.its pretty addictive and interesting and healthy!

My favorite relic machine is Ace 250-- I use more than my whites or minelab units
If its down there a ACE with DD coil will find it

I regularly find dimes and pennies down to about 10 inches and deeper on bigger targets
I find stuff as deep as with any other unit I have but also dig more trash but I dig more targets to so its a trade off
If the Ace gives you a ding on both directions of your swing you better did dig dig cause I find lots of good stuff regardless of ID range on screen
