New to Garrett

I have an ACE 250 and love it. My question is. I have a chance to buy a used Garrett ultra crossfire supreme deepseaker GTA-500. At a GOOD price. what can y'all experts tell me about this tector? Is is an older model? Thanks for any help

Mike

My suggestion would be to put your money into other coils for the 250. I don't think you would be dissappointed.
1500 350 250

Thanks
For the money I am getting this one for, I can't buy a coil. I Just needed some Info. On the unit. I love the 250-- been using it for over a year. I an a litte hard of hearing and the 250 out rings my other tectors. Thanks again.

The GTA 500 is older technology, uses more batteries, doesn't have the Power Master Circuitry, is heavier, doesnt separate targets as good as the ACE and doesn't have the depth that the ACE has.

Well, there you go!

HiYa Elvis: Nice to see ya here & do these guys and girls ever know their Garrett stuff:shocked:

One of the main reasons I bought an Ace was feedback from you at MDP about how effective it was, regardless of its' selling price. I've got the Ace, a Titan, and a Minelab, all pretty good detectors. Which one gets the call most often; you guessed it; the Ace 250!!!

Enjoy this forum; it's the place to go for Garrett info, and the people here are great and ready to help.

Yea Dick

I'm just doing some wheelin' and dealin' The 250 ain't going nowhere. I got a chance on what I though was a Good deal on a GTA 500-- I did a little research and found that it is an older tector-- Elvis told me to pass on it. You know I always listen to "E"

It's an older model and doesn't have the technology of the 250. It was a good tector in its day but a little long in the tooth now.
