Hello to all. I've been lurking here for a few months and have decided to get back into MD'ing. I have a Radio Shack MD that I've played with off and on for the past 10-12 years (pretty basic, no target id or anything like that). I decided to order an MXT Pro from Kellyco last week and (because they were sold out) I have to wait until thin weekend or so to get it. I took advantage of their promotion and ordered another model for my wife and also ordered the Eclipse 5.3 coil. I'm active duty AF (17+ years), but sustained some pretty nasty injuries from my last trip to Balad, Iraq. This will give my some opportunity to get out with my wife and try to mitigate some of the issues and maybe start feeling better.

The kit I ordered includes the headphones, but I'm thinking about getting a .25 to 3.5mm jack to put on my David Clark aviation headset to see how that works. The specs are pretty similar to Black Widows and the like....thought I might just give it a try.

I look forward to continual learning and conversing with you all. Good luck!

Shawn

Welcome Shawn. Hope to see your finds and like Jeff said there are plenty of good diggers to help you out. HH Jack

Welcome aboard Shawn. Number one: Thank you for serving our country. :usaflag: Number two: You're going to love that MXT of yours. You and your wife will be having so much fun detecting together. Larry and I have had some unforgettable days of detecting and have made great memories together. I too used a Radio Shack years ago and I will never forget the joy I had with that little cheap machine. We have a great group of people here and are will to answer your questions and we we have discussed many subjects in the past which can be searched through. Where are you from? Keep those batteries warm and HH, Nancy

Thanks for the welcome everybody. I live in NE and it's still pretty cold here and we have 6-8 inches of snow on the ground. Hopefully some of the snow will melt away (assuming we get a decent day soon) and I'll be able to get out when I get my MXT.
