<img src="/metal/html/shrug.gif" border=0 width=37 height=15 alt=":shrug"> I got a new CS for Christmas and I am still trying to figure out how to find GOOD stuff with it. I find that sometimes it really does "lock on" to coins, but not always. I found a dime at 2.5 inches yesterday I almost did not dig because it was jumping from 29 to 32 or 33. HELP.

Vicky, I've had my C$ for about 4-weeks now. What I have noticed is that it may lock on to coins (20-22, pennies, 26-28 dimes, 32-34 quarters), but coins on an angle tend to make it jump a bit. Big shifts like 18-38 tend to be bottle caps, which this machine just loves. I hope this helps and good luck.

Theres lots of good information bouncing around in here from time to time. There are lots of reasons that the numbers may jump a bit. But I approach it from a bit of a different perspective. I actually listen for foil and pulltabs. Anything that comes in above that is just a bonus. If you dig a piece of junk now and then.....BIG DEAL. Just have fun. Stick with it and the good finds will come.

but if jewelry hunting, I would dig anything above + as long as it was repeatable.
