Have any of you used both of these and if so, which do you prefer. It seems to be a split decision ! Thanks for your thoughts !

P.S. - I'm planning on going over some fairly trashy sites that have only had my stock coil go over them.

BTW, as a dealer, do you ship to Canada or is it too much of a hassle ? I'm looking at picking up a 5.3 coil for my MXT and have been reading that the IDX Pro has been discontinued . I've got one as my backup and really like this machine. Am wondering as to whether I should consider a smaller coil for that one also as they may not be around to be had ? Have read on this forum also that some of the guys have had modifications done to their machines. I am curious to know what purpose and/or benefit some of these mods provide. Any info on the topic from yourself or anybody would be greatly appreciated ! Thanks kindly for any thoughts on the subject.

For really trashy areas, IMHO, I don't think you can beat the 4 X 6 mini-shooter...good depth, ridicious seperation in the trash... 5.3 is good but 2nd choice...Best to you, RichardnTn

To me, Monte is the expert regarding the Classic series detectors and the modifications you asked about. I think Monte may still be on the road and not see your question. So ......... The following is one of Monte's posts that I copied and kept.

That'll be the trash area coil I'll go with. Pretty sure they fit the MXT only. Am I correct ? Do you ship to Canada ? If so, can you send me an e-mail with the price including shipping. Most of the Canadian dealers would have to order one from the states anyway. Any thoughts on a good second coil ( smaller of course ) for my IDX Pro ? Thanks,

I use my MXT the majority of the time so I'm thinking a smaller coil for this unit first. I'm a little concerned about not being able to find a smaller coil for the IDX Pro later on. Hence the reason for all of my questions. Hate the thought of being limited with my IDX to basically wide open areas. Thanks much for your posting that article by Monte. Very informative.
