New To Forum-Larger Coil Question ???

I have been a long time reader of this forum and this is my first post:

I bought the first Sovereign [ Original ] when it was offered for sale in the states. Minelab offered the 11" CoinSearch Coil for $25.00 if a person bought a Sovereign. I have been useing this coil as my primary coil for beach [ Wet & Dry ] sand and relic hunting along the Hudson River in New York.

This coil is such a pleasure to use, quiet, easy to pinpoint with and just an all around good coil to use. My question is,with all the different after market coils I see for sale, are any of them a better performing coil for relic hunting then the CoinSearch Coil.

Welcome to the forum.I never used a 11 inch coin search coil because I could never found a good deal on one.Even if you find another performance coil I would hang on to the large coin search coil. There's a lot of buzz about the SEF coils being great you may want to check them out.The S12 and WOT 15 are liked by a lot of hunters.Good luck

Granpa I would say give the 10" tornado coil a try or the two Ron mentioned. That 11" coil is a good one but its heavy and not very well balanced. With the other coils mentioned you will get about the same depth but you will have to use less sensitivity to keep the "quiet" you like about the coinsearch. Ive got the 10X12 SEF on my Explorer and its a sweet coil also but Ive never used one on my Sov.
