New to F 70 help

I recently got a fisher F 70 to go out and metal detect. I mainly hunt sand on the beach or in parks and school yards in the grass. I am getting multiple hits in areas I have hunted before, and finding small trash that reads in the coin area. I am finding small buttons,rivets, and other small object's that read in the coin area. Is there any way I can find more help here? Also I am seeing a bar come up to the Left side that says Dirt, sometimes one bar or two or as many as three. What is this telling me?

As I understand it, the bar you're referring to is a depth indicator on a 3 bar scale to give you some indication of the target depth before pinpointing. One bar is shallow, 2 medium, 3 deep.

I think from what I understand from Fisher the Dirt bar you are referring too is telling you that the dirt has changed from when you first ground balanced. Maybe a lower sensitivity would help.
