WHAT is the best way to have the excal set up so i can change the coil if i want to and the head phones,IF A PAIR GOES BAD I COULD CHANGE IT MY SELF,IS THIS SAFE???TODO.

Sun Ray makes good inline water proof connectors you can do yourself, keep in mind it will void your warranty if you have one.or you can send it to Minelab like Landman did and have the plugs installed.http://www.findmall.com/read.php?26,746683

I would not recommend doing the waterproof connectors LS. Had a mate in Fla., that used them and the connection leaked. Minelab took care of the issue, but they SURE did not have to. Don't go there. Spend the $ and get another unit, to change coils, you need a back-up anyway. Run the unit stock and see how you do, large coils are overrated, especially if you hunt IN the water and not the wetsand. You are going to have one hell of a time controlling a large coil in the waves, trust me, been there, done that!

I WAS THINKING OF THE 800 COIL I LIKE THE 1000 BUT I CAN SEE IT BEING ALITTLE HARD TO
HANDLE IN THE WATER!!! IM GOING TO RUN IT LIKE YOU SAID,THE ONLY THING IM GOING TO CHANGE IS THE SHAFT!!!!!I LIKE THE YELLOW!!!!
