New to Etrac

Picked up an ETrac last week and could use some advise. Obviously, it's much more complicated than the Quattro and Safari both of which I've used. I took it to the beach today and set the sensitivity in auto (just so I can get a feel for it). I also used the beach mode and was surprised how much foil I was picking up. Do I need to set foil discrimination separately? I ordered Andy Sabisch book so I'm guessing it will answer a lot of my questions?

I'm always happy to try to help, but you can't beat Andy's book.

It's a very good resource. Many folks run manual sense as high as they can stand it, others run auto plus three. Either the manual or Andy's book will show you how to build your own modes or discrimination patterns. At first I just dug everything to figure out what it was telling me. On the beach I still take a chance on anything above iron. Personal choice I guess. You'll get pretty good at guessing what's there after a bit. But digging the iffy signals while getting me mostly trash has also got me a few goodies, you never know!

Have to dig the foil to find the gold. Gold can and will hit with the same FE/CO.
