New to detecting World Excal II

I am new to the detecting world. Live about an hour from the Florida beaches. So far used about a hundred and twenty in gas, found a quarter and three pennies, but I am having fun.

Hey.... you could make that up in one gold ring. Gas prices keep going up like expected i might have to walk to the beach. As you now know a hobby isnt about the money you make but the enjoyment you get out of it. Enjoy the solitude.

erikk that was rude. Not all of us hide our trash in the sand.:minelab:
One day I am going to take pictures while I am out in the water of all the winter hunters on the beach running around with their detectors & hand scoops or french fry baskets finding a target, discovering it is a tab or other piece of trash and tossing it back on the ground. A majority of them do not even have a apron to hold the found junk. Then there are the others that have a long handle scoop that will dig a hole to hell only to discover a aluminum can which will be tossed back into the hole & left uncovered
Since the early 60's when I started detecting I have watched people slowly but surely destroy this hobby both in the dirt & the beaches. Used to be you could hunt just about anywhere and no one would bat an eye until you got to a park where some idiot had left it looking like a used bombing range and then things went down hill from there.....
(P.S. I know what U meant!)

Man i thought we had pass port requirement to come to fl..... especially for those Ind. guys LOL. Not just here in Fl you see those issues erikk even in Ind parks hunters felt like it was a chore to carry out their junk.

Mostly visitors will usually do that as they know they will not be back detecting the same areas so WTF do they care-and they are not all from Indiana:rofl:

Well, as evidenced by all the trash most MDers pick up, I would have to say the trash indicates that people are generally just lazy - that being the case, I don't imagine they will be any less lazy when it comes to removing something they didn't put there; unless is happens to be gold, silver, or gem studded.... However, for those of you that DO pick up the trash fill your holes, and leave no evidence that you were there -- :super: And may you find more gold, sliver and gems than those that don't clean the places up!
