New Tiger Shark on its way!

Hey guys, after much deciding i pulled the trigger and ordered a new TS. I hunt inland with a F75 but since the beach is only 2 min away i wanted a water machine. I went over all the pros and cons of whats out there. I know alot of surf hunters swear by the CZ and Excals but they were not in my price range. If i can run the hyper sensitive F75 in the wet sand the Tiger shark should do me just fine. Build quality, coil options and warranty swayed me.

Get your self a 10.5in coil! goes a little more deeper then the 8in

Its on my list

As long as you stay in the fresh water you will LOVE it!! I have both coils for mine, the 10" does cover a bit more ground. It is super sensitive with both coils, Let us know what you find!! HH Joe

I also have the 10.5 and a rod for it.

Joe, its going to be in the salt. Lots of shore line and beaches here. I know all about whats been said about it in the salt but the rules dont apply here in the NE beaches. 8 inches on a dime in the surf is good enough for me.

Should be here monday. Just in time for summer vacation "school teacher". I will be out at least twice a week with it if not more.

Ok, I had mine in Destin, a LOT of salt, a splash in the face and you are blinded!! 2" "air" test underwater was the best I could do with it, it wouldn't pick up a coin any further from the coil. I ended up with 3 pennies for an entire week of detecting. It is a KILLER machine in fresh water though. I am heading back to Destin the 23rd of July.... with my shiny new Excal II!!! Wish me better luck, and I am wishing you great sucess with yours!! HH Joe

Is Destin the only saltwater you've tyred it at? I assume you don't live near the beach like i do. The NE coast line NJ, NY, CT and the couple people i know that use one have no problem. A friend of the family has a Stingray 2 and a house in Puerto Rico on the beach. Cabo Rojo to be exact. I used his machine while down there and didn't experience the problems with depth. Not to say it might not ever happen but its as easy for me to change the place i hunt. Good luck with your Excal! If the Tiger shark does not work ill switch to something else. I just cant base it off of one persons findings at one beach while on vacation. like i said in my first post. If i can get my F75 to work and get depth in the salt here i know the Tesoro will do just fine.
