New Tesoro Land machine

Since i got into metal detecting I have only purchased Garrett machines. Within the last couple of years i started water hunting and have picked up both the Tiger and Sand sharks. I am totally impressed with Tesoro.
I do all of my land detecting with a GTP 1350. I am looking at getting a Tesoro but do not want to buy the same type of technology as the 1350. What would be the best choice for a detector that uses a different type of technology then the 1350. I want to check all of my old areas to see what the Garrett has missed.
I hope I explained this as clear as what it seems in my head.
Hope to hear every ones opinions.

I use the relics setting on the GTP 1350 and pretty much dig everything that has at least some kind of a repeatable signal. I pretty much dig everything from foil on up. Like I said as long as it is repeatable.

If you like the Tiger Shark then you'll love the Bandido II for land hunting. The Tiger Shark uses the Bandido electronics inside. The older Bandido Detectors were great units too although the control box is a little heavier than the Bandido II "Umax" Either of these units come up for sale on the forums from time to time and are reasonably priced. Back in the day they were cutting edge technology in the Tesoro line and they can still make great finds along side the newer models.
Hope this helps,
Good luck in your search for a new detector.

I have owned 6 Tesoros, 4 were uMax's. Bandito, Silver Sabre, Conquistador, and Cibola, and have liked every one of them. Some notes on the Cibola, a fine machine with more gain and depth than the earlier and a higher operating frequency for better sensitivity to gold. Having said all that I will say it not my favorite complimentary machine to the 1350. My Conquistador is still my favorite because it has a faster recovery speed than the Cibola, and accepts the 4 inch coil. With the fastest recovery time and a four inch coil the earlier uMax machines are still the best performers on a trashy lot. The trashy lot is where your 1350 suffers the most with a fairly slow recovery time.

The later higher frequency uMax machines,(Cibola, Vaquro, and Tejon) and the smallest coil is the 5.75, and are slightly slower in recovery. This is better for depth but is not quite as good in trashy areas. Tesoro now has a Widescan 5.75, but not having used one I don't know if this helps it in the trashy area.

The reason the Conquistador uMax is my favorite, it, along with the Eldorado, was the last series before the Cibola and has all the newer features and has a large assortment of coils that will work on these.

This trashy reference that I have made is more about target masking. Target masking is greatest problem with the 1350, and there are many other machines that are worse than a 1350.
