Brand new on here, but have been reading this forum for some time now.Decided to get into this hobby after wanting too for a long time, just didn't have the time. Now I may have more,(unless work gets in the way).:)

Researched for a few months, visited with many other MD users, got lots of advice.Seems most have jumped on the "New with more bells" wagon. I decided not to go for that lure. This forum made up my mind for me. And for that I THANK YOU all!

I went with The Vaquaro for my first machine.Simplicity is the closet thing to perfection. Haven't had any time to play with it yet, but really looking forward to that day.

I have a question: I live in south central MO. and was wondering about the ground here.I've seen a few charts posted here, but can't make heads or tails about them.Anyone have some imfo? Thanks again all.

Welcome to the forum, and cogitation on the Vaquaro, do not weary too much about ground mineral charts because the Vaquaro will be able to handle it.
Read and re read your owners manual, practice your GB it is quick and easy to set. Good luck and have fun!

Welcome to forum. You got yourself an excellent detector. It's light, fast and deep.

777 ~ I think U did a smart thing , I did basically the same but with Lobo ST , just wanted to start learning the Tones without any frills . Stil do it that way so far But added in an Infinium Pi for the same reason as a Deeper yet, Gold machine . Seemingly Analog (Dislay wise / Only) is how i like Doing it & dont see it changing anytime soon :) . . . Ken~Digs

Robert. I read what the banner says about what the side affects of not having a Tesoro. Well, I have a Vaquero and Conqistador and I feel all of those things.using them. I am mid 60's good shape and all the bending down, finding stuff makes me dizzy, getting up and down, need a lot of water from all the digging, worry/sleepless nights as to when I can get out again, Weight loss(GREAT, I needed that) from all the walking and up and down and digging, and bad taste in my mouth from all the black flies and skeeters. So, which way does it apply??? Need to know. I love my Tesoros.. ootpik

Thanks all for the Howdys. Been doing a good bit of practice in the yard, and have been learning what to expect. I did go up to one of our local ball fields the other night for about an hour and found a good bit of clad. ( trash too) I can tell that I am hooked deep! Gotta get me some good phones, probly go with some grey ghosts, and a pin pointer, probly Garrett.

Also have a chance to buy a used 5.75 coil for $50, sound like a good deal?

Loving it here in Mo!
