New T2

Got my T2 today from Richard at Backwoods Detectors and took it out in the yard for about 20 minutes. I still have to work with the machine but right off the bat ground balanced it, adjusted the sensitivity to 75, disc to 40 (just to play) and to 2+ tones and BAM!!! Pulled a decayed penny out (I could just make out the monument on it) and a 1961 nickel. I'm liking this machine already.

I have hit the same spot with both my AT Pro and DFX in the past and only pulled out old roofing nails and trash.

I think the T2 is well worth it and a great machine so far. Hopefully I'll be able to get a longer hunt in tomorrow or Friday.

Get ready to be amazed at what other machines have missed that the T2 will get.

The T2 is a very nice detector,as its harvest time at the moment we have lots of stiff stubble so the superb 5'' coil is the main one used at the moment, then when the stubble has rotted i change over to the NEL Storm coil. One of my all time favorite detectors.

I have the standard 11" coil at the moment. Anyone have an opinion on the Teknetics 5" compared to the NEL Sharp (5" model) or the Snake (6.5" x 3.5" DD) coil?

I have used the Sharp on other machines and it did pretty well in extremely trashy sites. But if just mildly trashy the NEL Sharpshooter is the coil to have in book.

Well overall I spent about 2 hours with this morning and it was a horrible morning. Unfortunately I only found 20¢. A clad 1977 dime and a...wait for it...a 1944 Mercury dime in what looks like pristine condition. It's my first silver yay.

It was so humid that I couldn't spend as much time out as I would have liked to. I think I'll go back next week to the little honey hole that gave her up.

Man I'm loving the T2

Congrats on the Mercury dime.
