New spot, someone beat me there

You ever find a new spot that you think is tucked away, out of sight? Had that today, and upon arrival deep in the woods, start detecting only to realize there were already fresh holes from another hunter. Anyway, i guees they missed this barber. Pays to hunt the holes in the brush patches. I guess doesnt really matter that someone beat me to the spot! The bad part is... Yes? I scratched the face on Ms Barber! CRX is spot on with the 11"... Not sure what happened. Havent done that in a long time!

Not particularly collectible anyway, but nonetheless they don't pop up very often. Great find, we love the silver! Way to go!

Yeah, thinking of polishing the scratch out , so I dont have to remember my miss! It a phycological thing! :clapping:

Congrats on a great find. Barber don't pop up that often...

yes it takes a great deal of research, word of mouth, interviewing an elder spokesperson etc to find a spot that hasnt been at least hit upon once. However it is still possible. And remember how construction and or severe adverse weather events might open a window to previously raked over spots. Also like noted above, hit those brush and thickets, the side boundaries to see what was missed, etc. I amazed at stuff my buddy and i still turn up in a town with a very active club Good Hunts All, CO

Ya,great find..wtg... i once found a spot in a cornfield no ever hunted to my knowledge. ..lots and lots of buttons and a few old coppers... well about 2hrs into this virgin site what do i see but 3 guys walking towards me with detectors in hand...i think oh no how could they...turns out they were just cutting across the field to get to an old abandoned house that still stands...we chatted a few minutes and they went on there way..2hrs later they doubled back and i was still hunting exact same area they had seen me in 2hrs prior... they had no idea a home once stood there till 1870... i had the sov gt with that day and fortunately it out performed thier whites detectors at this particular site.. they couldn't find anything and i pulled another large cent out while they were sweeping all around me...that place sat undisturbed for 140 years until that day... didnt take long to clean out either... i rarely find anything there anymore...but it was alot of fun while it lasted...

Nice find there mcb613! That little scratch is hardly noticeable. Whenever I ding one, I always leave it as reminder to be very careful with my recovery methods. With me, it seems to happen on my BEST finds. I just laugh at myself. Best of luck and...

Happy Hunting!
