A friend of mine who is a doctor just bought a rather large farm. Turn out many yrs. ago this was actually seven different farms. These places date back to being settled in 1812. He is getting maps and deeds dating back to the original owners. As it stands right now I will be the only person allowed to detect on this property. According to the person whom he bought it from nobody had ever asked to detect there. Needless to say I can't wait to take my 2 Whites in there. That will give me a place to hunt for quite awhile. I hope it turns out to be a good place.

Be sure and look around the mail boxs .long ago postage was paid by leaving coins in the mailbox. I have found a few wheats around post boxes. laundry string lines if you can find where they were are also good spots. best of luck.

The farm he bought is all crop fields now and has been as long as I can remember. You would never know that there was ever a homeplace there. I'm hoping some of the old maps he comes up with will give me some kind of idea where to start. If not I'll just have to go at it blindly. Not like I haven't done that before. Oh well, it will be fun but alot of work. I'll keep you posted when I get started.
