New Soverign falsing bad!

my gt keeps falsing in wet sand bad. In the dry sand ok but in the wet constantly. I pull the jack for the headphones out and listen with the speaker and no problem. I plug back in with my grey ghosts deep woods brand and back again. I borrowed a pair of sony headphones that do not have a limited built in and not much of a change. Ready to return the detector to customer service. Could the jack be bad? . I know how to setup the gt and all that. Guys I meet say their gt is quiet for the most part. Not this one. Not running a coil cover for now and using the stock 10". any suggestions?

Since it's not doing it when you are using the built in speaker and no headphones then I'd say your headphones are bad, but since you said it's doing it with other headphones then for sure it sounds like the headphone jack has a short in it.

I am thinking its the waves and wave movement. The ocean is a giant EMI producer and My GT has to be adjusted lower when in the water or working the wet sand .My GT Will false way before I see the water coming. The other thing is not to work parallel to the waves work to and from, this has always been proper technique when hunting the ocean beaches. While I am at it this type detector isn't a Ron Popiel set it and for get it! The detector has to be adjust many times during the hunting period. Master hunter Clive Cynick when asked how long does it take to adjust your Minelab for hunting. He answer was certainly no longer than 6hr during a 6hr hunt!

I can reduce sens to 3 and still falsing, yet in thedry powder no problem, but i bought it for the wet!
Iamalookin thinks it might be the limiter function in the heDphones. The headphones are fine. I use them on my mxt no problem.

Really surprised you are still having problems. Mine cleared up right away after turning off the limiter or using my GG water phones. I need to hunt with you and check them both out at the same time.

I had something similar happening to me recently - turned out it was the connection on the headphone plug portion shorting. Since it doesn't happen on the speaker, I would check the wires on the female portion of the jack; do move the wires some, but gently in order to avoid causing a problem that isn't there. But if your voltmeter gets variable readings when testing continuity , then it's a solder job or short. Once I replaced the male portion of the jack on my headphones, I've had no problem with falsing since.
