New Smyrna Beach

Sailorman

I saw you setting up your CTX 3030 and out of the kindness of my heart I didn't bother you but now spill the beans. How did it go? A day with the Etrac on dry and wet sand and an AT-Pro up to thigh deep didn't yield much. That is one sanded in beach. It's the quietest I've ever seen it!

Just wondering if the CTX opened it up any?

Can it possibly be that there is a CTX owner that is NOT on this forum?

Sailorman, I was out there from 1 till 4. It was possibly me. You should have come over and chatted. The beach did seem pretty sanded in and I wanted to go out deeper. Since I don't have my waterproof muffs yet, I switched to the excal. There were only about 6 or 7 honey holes that produced 2 pop tops (sure sounded like gold). I also plucked a key, a quarter, dime, and penny. I'm still trying to learn the sweet spots on the beach, tryin to find the line. I'm getting better. Now if only I could only figure out the CTX...

Yup! I bet it was you. We were driving north to a new spot about 1. Down by the main life guard station was sterile! Worked the bar cut north of you at dead low and got a fresh nickel and penny. Got a few more coins and weights up by the jetty but looking at the rocks it really sank in just how deep the fresh sand was. Bummer for all of us! Did find the usual pull tabs but even they were few. Got two nickels, a dime, a quarter and a few pennies. Found about six lead weights and of course three twist tops. That was one sanded in beach. I was hoping maybe you did better!

If you see a bearded cuss with an E-Trac with some camo wrap on the handle that might be me and I'm usually there with a partner swinging an AT-Pro. Maybe we'll meet up one day. Sure interested in your machine, just going to take a while to save up at the rate the beach has been surrendering gold...

Do you ever get to and have any luck at any other beaches? I have not been beach detecting long, so since I'm still learning about the cuts and stuff, I would love to get with you guys, trade stories, and swing the detector. I will gladly let you try out the CTX. It's a lot of machine.

We have hit Daytona, Flagler, Cocoa and a spot I'll PM you about! I make no claims to be an expert but I try hard...

I guess you don't have enough posts for the PM function to work! Drop me an email if you'd like to get together to hunt. Always up for new detecting friends!

Elcruisr at yahoo.com just put the appropriate symbol in to replace the "at". That helps foil the spam bots, I hope.
