New small coil is awesome!

Hi all-

My earlier post suffered a technical glitch and was lost. Thought I'd put it up again. I was fortunate enough to get the new coil and have only been out once with it since the weather has turned pretty bad here.

This coil is a definite winner! No problems with GB or target ID, it really locks on. The separation in trash is superior and my T2 runs VERY stable with it. First time with it, I out netted a nice Washington quarter from this semi frozen lot.

Very definitely worth the wait, I think this coil will take the Teknetics to a whole new level. I can't wait to get out again with it! Thanks for looking!

Thanks for the report and nice find! I hate chipping frozen dirt, hardly ever manage to recover anything, but every year I must try once again. :D

I really want this new coil, but no sense to the hurry. There's still snow on the ground here that's been sitting since November 5th with more added nearly every week since then. Just one of those years! Last year was so dry, the soil almost couldn't freeze,

Not to highjack Shedigger's post, but AOL's member webspaces did indeed impact earth with no survivors. Many folks who stored their pages only online and not prepared were hosed. My pages were created right here at my desk, so I just found a new host and re-uploaded them.

I put a link in another post. If by chance blatant self-promotion and posting of helpful links to one's own webpages is not allowed, just google "preparium" and you'll find it. No, it's not the pregnant horse, it's the "other one!" :D

Thank you Ed... will do later... I'm leaving in the morning to the Mojave desert.
I'm glad the information was not lost. Especially Regs (he is posting on the PI
Tech forum)...

Thanks Parrot, those pages have seen a lot of hits over the years, glad I put 'em up to help those hunting meteorites. I swam against the stream by stating common, low-cost machines are effective meteorite detectors. The articles and reprinted forum posts are several years old now but still relevant, as technology has not changed all that much.

The big shame is the old URL is listed in Richard Norton's newest meteorite book, it came out before AOL dumped me and everyone else!

I just received the new coil from the US and I planned to test it tomorrow. Unfortunately I found that I cannot use the original screw & bolt to attach it to my T2, because the screw is too short. How guys you solved that? Tks

Go to ACE hardware or home depot and pick up a plastic (nylon) machine bolt and nut to fit. It works very well..

we don't have that chainstore in Italy, but I know what you mean:they're used to tie the toilet covers here
Thank you!
