New small 8x6 SEF coil now out for the Etrac. Keep an eye out .:look:

I looked on the website, couldnt find it. Any idea if the rod mounts in the middle like on the others?

Its listed on the UK distributor web site already for 139GBP. States its deeper than a standard 8". Looking forward to Kellyco stocking it....

I've been hearing about the SEF coil and many have said that it is not really all that it is advertised.

Some say that it is not any deeper, and is slightly less stable. Pinpointing is said to be as good as the standard coil. Separation from what I have been reading is not any better or worse than the standard coils available.

I can see an advantage of having a larger one for covering larger areas quicker. But a small SEF doesn't seem to offer any advantages over the other 8 inch or smaller coils.

One big advantage would be the weight. Have you tried to swing the 8" minelab coil. It is off balance and feels heavier than the new 11" pro coil.

The 12x15 gets great depth i have one and love it.

Jason,

Do you feel the 12X15 SEF is superior to the WOT? I have been trying to make up my mind between the two. I have a WOT for my Excalibur and love it, but that SEF has a very interesting design that looks like it might be the next step up.

I have heard the 6" EXcellerator is a really good small coil for the E-Trac. I would think especially for such a small area with so many targets.

Glad to hear that about the 12X15. Ive only got a few minutes in on mine, just wanted to see how it would feel to swing and it was the end of a hunt so I was pretty beat. Its gonna cover some ground thats for sure. I use the 12X10 as my main coil and its a great coil.
