I went hiking today actually looking for cellar holes for land hunting (no luck they had been hunted out). On the way home I stopped at a location on my gps I have been meaning to look at. Low and behold I found a swimming hole in a stream that people use. I grabbed my Excal and put on my waders and in I went. Signals were everywhere, it had obviously not been hunted. I was ripping out coin after coin (all new clad), bottle caps and pull tabs. My heart was pumping I thought the gold was coming at any time.
but... it never did. I could not believe it... there were so many coins I was standing in one place just digging for 30 minutes at a time. There were so many signals that I could not even pinpoint in places
I was pulling up multiple coins at a time and at one point I had 6 coins in a single scoop
The stream had a very swift current and it was tiring work
. I just don't understand why not a single piece of jewelry, even kids. I may be on to something though. There were several places where I found many coins bunched together, and several places that had multiple fishing weights all together.
Can the gold be bunched up together someplace that I did not get to yet? Are fresh water streams anything like the beach where things gather together The bottom wan full of stones and sand. I wish I had my sifter with me as after each scoop I had a scoop full of stones.
