. I found a few new sites over the last few weeks since my old sites have stopped producing
old coins for me. Yesterday I went to a small park and used the stock coil to find $1.59 in clad
and memorial cents, several buried soda cans and the usual pull tabs. Most of the targets
ranged from the surface down to six inches deep. About an hour into the hunt I got a
13-39/40/41 signal that read eight inches on the E-trac depth meter. I was hoping for something
good since it was deeper than the other targets. After a few minutes digging I was able to pull
out a fist-sized rock and two other rocks that were a bit smaller. The pin pointer gave a clear,
higher pitched signal at the bottom of the hole so I scooped out a few more inches of dirt and
found this 1854 Seated Quarter in the dirt pile. That was the only old coin of the hunt but there
is a lot more ground to cover there so I'll go back as soon as I get a chance.
