New setting.

Tried out a new setting on the goldbugpro.Tried a setting of 60 disc and 100 gain.Ran great really kept alot of unwanted noise away.I really liked just the two tones. No other bothers.
I think this setting will rule in the heavy trash enviroments. The disc controls are rather intresting on this unit.

I not sure how this will effect depth.I did not notice any decrease and was still digging alot of 4-5" targets.

Went out for a 1.5 hour trial on the new setting-4 penny's,a canadian leaf pin(2nd I have found) and a canuck two dollar coin.

Just wondering if anyone has tried out this setting.

I always hunt on 38 Seems to work good, never had it up that far, too risky. But let us know.

Yes, Rockpup -- I have hunted that way, and done well. I checked my machine out in my test garden, running disc up higher, and saw NO loss in depth. This machine does NOT seem to lose depth running a higher disc level. I actually like running disc up around 60 sometimes. Though you cannot hear the iron, which is sometimes important, it is another option to try -- it quiets the iron, lets some of the gold and nickels hit in the "low" tone, and then bigger gold and most other coins will hit VCO audio. It's a fun way to hunt, IMO.

Yeah that is what i thought about the disc setting.I only do this in modern parks-the odd's of me finding a gold ring are very slim in my parts-but there's a few out there.I get about one a year and you know whats funny, I dont think I have ever found a silver ring-gotta check but I am pretty sure.Lots of junker's.I live in a poor southern alberta mostly rural largerest part of our eceonmy is farming.Really not that many people are fancy around these part's.

I will need to goto the nearby city and find some park's in more upclass area's.

I always hunt with disc at 50 and sens at 80 cuts out all iron and still finds jewlery and coins in parks and fields. Disc at 45 to 50 there are way too many pulltabs at high tone

Low-Boy --

Can you elaborate? If I run 60 disc, which allows 40-60 to sound as a low tone, and 60 and above to hit VCO, this style allows me to hear low tones and think "could be gold," and higher VCO tones and think "could be coin or big gold." On the other hand, when I run 40 disc, and I hear a low tone, I think "should be iron;" when I hear the higher, VCO tones I think "could be ANYTHING." Just a different way to hunt, is all. Are you saying with disc set at 60, and thus your lowest VDI which you would get a low tone response being 40, that you'd be missing gold that hits BELOW 40 (and thus would of course not produce audio on the machine, causing you to miss it?)

I am asking this not to be combative, but to be informed, since you are a jewelry MASTER!

In using my machine, and getting familiar with it, I can't imagine this machine reading much jewelry-type gold below 40 (unless you mean a tiny earring back, or broken-off earring post, or broken link off of a bracelet, something like that).

Thanks,

Steve
