A little bit about me: 5 years ago, I started out slow with a couple of Garrett models (2500,250). Eventually I stopped for a while, but then decided to get an E-Trac. I still never regret it, because what followed was many years of satisfying detecting. The fun stopped when I suddenly needed money bad, so I sacraficed my E-Trac. I was heartbroken and went without detecting for about 6 months. Then, one day, I had enough money to get a decent machine. I ended up getting a slightly used SE Pro really cheap. After hearing so many great things about it, how could I not?
So here I am today. I have a few friends who I hunt with alot, one of which has taught me well over the years. We all have a good time swinging in fields, parks, and woods together. I like to work better as a team anyways; more ground covered gives you a better chance at discovering if a site is worth hitting hard or not.
2 months have gone by with my SE Pro, and I honestly thought I would be stuck indoors this winter because of all the snow. Well, this years winter turned out to be joke. So everyone has been taking advantage of this, including myself of course. I still can't seem to catch up to some of my friends with sheer qauntity and rarity, but I feel like this year is off to a good start for me. My hunt for the elusive KGIII has ended, but I am still waiting for this years fist Large Cent. Things tend to show up slowly for me, so it may be a while. If only I didn't have to work... I could just metal detect all day. That would help!
I feel the call, just like you all. I understand the need to go searching for something amazing. I think this hobby will be with me until I am dead or unable to do it. I know that alot of you feel the same.
If you've actually read this far: Good luck to you all and be sure to come here and share your amazing discoveries with everyone.
