New Safari Disappointed

It arrived today , and I have to tell you .. Im not impressed at all with the dealer I chose... It did not include 4 out of the 6 free items listed.. (He advised they are shipped from his vendor and can take up to 2 weeks to receive ) Additionally, the arm rest was not attached to the shaft and the screw that securely holds the armrest to the shaft is no where in the box..
Did the armrest on yalls new Safari come already attached to the shaft or was there a "hardware" kit included that provided the screw ?
And, was a strap included with yalls armrest or is that sold separately ?
Thanks again for you responses... Just frustrated wanting to try the darn thing out and Im not even able to use it without being able to attach the stinking armrest..

yeah arm cuff was attached when i un box it screw was installed and strap was on but i pulled it off ,
sounds like you should give them a quick call i am sure they will get one out to you fast
great machine i am new on this forum i have had mine for a month now and have found some great coins in hunted out parks gotta love it,

Return the thing. It's either been used or opened. The control head was asembled with arm rest and srap present. I had to assemble the battery pack with batteries and install. Assembled to shaft to the control shat and afixed the coil assembly.

Return it as dissatisfied if you can get your money back and order it from Kellyco and get there accessories.

Something is wrong if the screws missing and the armand is not there.

I was afraid of that.. I acutally purchased a Garrett from Kellyco a few months ago and I was Extreemly happy with the service... I sure do wish I would not have purchased this recent used ( described as brand new) Safari from Ebay.

JB sorry to hear about your problems. I have never dealt with Kellyco. But just from the forum, most of the members really like dealing with them.
Please call them and talk to them. I am sure it wasn't done on purpose. I think they really have a very big business and things get mixed up.
I have nothing to with Kellyco and have never dealt with them but I don't see what they would gain by screwing you? I would think it would be the other way around. Try to honor their commitment to every customer. Bringing in more business..
Just my opinion.....Z

No , your absolutely correct.. I was not clear on my last message... I was trying to say I did business with kellyco a short time ago and I was very pleased with them..
It was this Safari purchase through Ebay that was apparently used when advertised in the listing as "Brand New" .

From what I understand you bought the safari from eBay and a Garrett from kellyco? What you wrote can be a bit deceiving. I just bought my second detector(Safari) from kellyco and I my sales person was Raul. Very professional and friendly. I have not received the Safari yet (hopefully this Friday but most likely Monday) but when I get the machine I have no doubt everything will be intact.
I like kellyco but if you do have a local dealer give them a visit as well.

PS: When buying from eBay always email the seller and check the reviews. If you don't have a question about the product you want to bid, make up a question. When and if you get a response and how it is answered can give you an idea of whom you are dealing with.

JB ok thanks for the correction. I have never gotten anything on Ebay. My own opinion is that it is too iffy to buy anything there. Too many horror stories. I know of many people who do nothing but buy on Ebay. I just haven't done it yet. You have to know what you are doing to get the deals.....Z

Everything is shipped in the minelab box, and assembly is required, I am sorry to hear that your machine was used. Or at least assembled, and somewhat disassembled. Unfortunately not everyone who sells something sees it as used. Hopefully you didn't pay too much money, if you go on kellyco's website you will see what type of package deals they offer. I am satisfied with kellyco. I hope all issues get resolved quickly for you, wish you the best!!! Ron :detecting:

Hello JB, If you have contacted the seller and he is not willing to make things right you should contact Ebay's Resolution Center. Anything bought on Ebay and paid by Paypal is guaranteed to be as described. Hope this helps, Don

Oh ... No !!! not another happy eBay user.

Did the detector work?
Ebay is a notorious dumping ground for defective items.

sorry to hear about your bad experience and hope you get it resolved because i think the safari is a great machine. I got one about a month ago and I'm brand new at metal detecting and went to a local park that a freind said was gone over with a fine toothe comb be a lot of people and got two barber dimes 1892 and 1906 plus two rosies out of one hole and about 10 wheats and only been out about 8 times. So hang in there hopfully you can get it resolved.. Oh yea, I got my stuff from kellyco and they were great.

Definately go to Kellyco. I have an Xterra 50, Excalibur II, and a Safari.....all from Kellyco. I would not consider buying a detector from anyone else.

Safari comes with armpiece and strap preassembled... If you can't get the armstrap and the nessary bolt/bolts, let me know and I will send them to you..Sorry you had the problem...Richard
