New rods for my Sov. GT ....

Hi guys , I want to say I can't believe how great this new set up i did for my GT. I wish I could show you guys some pics but the pics are to large to download. So anyways I bought a new Whites diving rod and middle "S" rod and made a new set-up. Drilled some holes in the middle rod and the lower rod fit like a glove. Straight on. I hooked up Rons meter and bingo. It's like I lost 2ils off the set-up. Very easy to hold and swing. There are a few detectors I want to bring out this year and the GT is one of them. I bought a new to me Sunray S-8 and mounted it on the end of the GT and it's ready for the dirt. HH gang, GS

Chris,

Let me know how you like the performance of the S8 coil.
pm'd you

II am looking to add a 8" coil on my GT. Any suggestions on the Sunray S8. Vs. the tornado 8? Thanks

I have no suggestion as of yet , I just got the S-8 and have not brought it out yet . I never used the tornado 8" yet. I am sure someone will answer you. GS

I uploaded the pictures for GS. This is his setup

Your welcome Chris. You have a wonderful setup for your sov! You have a beautiful dog too.

Wow that was super fast Jim , thank you very much Sir. GS

Great set up. Anything to lighten the Sov is good. I need to move away from the old bungee setup to one of these hybrid rod creations. My rig is loaded with a converted 550 to 180 meter & sunray probe utilizing pluggers handle to stack 'em - heavy!I like the S8 coil very much.

I am not sure if it even lost any weight or not but just feels like it did. Maybe because it's well balanced  But just feels lighter. GS

Thanks Bruce , I was going to put the S-1 probe on but I bought the other " pin pointer " to try out. I just got the S-8 i am hoping I like it. Time will tell. GS
