New Rig Review

Put 36 hrs on my new detecting rig since last Sunday when I bought it..."Rosie" and I covered 6 States, and hunted in 4...
I did a quick "air test" when I got her home, max settings were 44, so I set all four coils at a judicious and comfortable 36...by the time we got to Nashville, the settings read 40! So its got an "auto ground balance" feature!

Four Tones with Overload! delicate hum below 55, proportional pitch as speed increases, an alarming buzz at 65-70, (like a bee in a jar, or an Fpoint in a mitten,) accompanied by a concerning but timid vibration, also like an Fpoint! Once a fellow pushes past 72, a wonderfully arousing purr! (like Eartha Kitt's portrayal of Catwoman in the old 60's Batman episodes) indeed the automotive worlds varient of viagra! Once past 80, the Overload signal kicks in, from somewhere over by the passenger sideview mirror...a loud annoying flute type of whistle, like a battlefield bagpiper taking a round through the boiler room, or a hippy with a bamboo panpipe attempting Jethro Tull...you Minelabbers know what I'm saying...I found it incredibly delicious to drop into the 60's, accelerate into the 70's, and experience the excitement Chuck Yeager must have felt when breaking the sound barrier for the first time...arrive at Eartha Kitt tones, and keep it up for as long as I could without having to call a doctor, or take a cold shower!!

Accompanied by an analog readout, a fellow can operate by Tones alone without constantly checking the TIDs!
Also, its got a Pinpoint Button, labeled "air conditioner" ! As you all know, a PP button directs all machine power for a short term focused intent, and Rosie is no different, once deployed, a cool arctic blast emits from the controls, and a swift decelleration ensues, like a dragster firing its parachute, or a jake brake on a big rig! I found this quite handy, and attempted to use it sparingly when needed to keep me in the proper operating zone.

Also, Rosie seems to employ some sort of prototype 2 cycle power plant, I discovered she requires 1 quart of oil per 8 gal gas, a moderate 32:1 ratio, like a Lawnboy, only slightly faster, She does it all automatically pulling needed oil from the main sump, thereby eliminating any mixing or even any oil changes!

I'm gonna pull the front and rear seats, put in a sleeping area, a small kitchenette can be built using a can of sterno inserted into the in dash pop out cupholder, and perhaps a modest bathroom, made out of the top third portion of a 5gal pail siliconed into a hole cut in the floor...

My Wife has no interest being "caught dead" in Rosie, which I thought an odd statement, since I could easily fit her lifeless body into the trunk...Anyway, in a week, we covered 1800 miles, found a stinky pile of clad, and one gold ring! So i think I'll keep her..Rosie that is...
