New record?

I will be counting all the coins 1899 and older at the FOM. This month will establish a record we might never beat but can sure try. Keep them coming.

Steve, What is the current record?

No record yet, as Steve said, this month will establish a record.

I see. I thought there might be a record from previous years.

From what I can see here, this is what has been reported so far.

Larry - 1888 IH, 1892 IH & 1885 Seated Dime

Andrew - 1888 IH, 1872 Seated Dime and 1876 Seated Dime

Nathan - 1888 IH, 1889 IH, and super ultra top secret silver coin.

I hope I haven't missed anybody. If I have please feel free to add to the list.

So it is apparent to me that if you don't have a 3030, you won't find any oldies anymore. I also find it interesting the all 3 have an 1888 Indian Head cent.

Don't bet on it Dave, but I swear that 3030 is an Indian magnet. Larry has found more in the past few months with that machine than he's found in years. Crazy, but true!!

HH,
Nancy

All of my finds this month have been around 6 inches or less. No reason why any other machine couldn't find them. Most weren't even being masked.

Its going to be an interesting meeting. A record number of coins is going to be something to try and beat in the coming months.

My last coin from the 1800's was in early June. About the same time that the 3030s hit the area. Since then nothing. Coincidence??, I don't think so. It is that GPS feature is sending out a dampening effect, into the surrounding area. 3 of them just increases the area of effect exponentially. It is alien technology, I tell ya.

Somebody post the results next Tuesday night. I might want to get an early start that Wednesday morning. Sadly August is normally my luckiest month.

No traveling for me in September so I'm ready do some major hunting! 1 week down and 2 to go before I can put the Etrac back in my hands

I found an 1892 barber quarter today. Silver ring, 1916 merc, token, war nickel and 2 wheats

Is there a d on the Merc, Nathan?. I need one for my collection. So have both you and Andrew quit your jobs, to do this full time or what??

No unfortunately, otherwise it would have been a CHA - CHING moment. No I'm still working in my off time from my full time job of metal detecting.:twodetecting:

Great finds guys. Oh, to be young again and be able to be half Mountain Goat. Keep going...........I love to hear about the finds. HH, Nancy

If everyone would put their name on the back of their 2 x 2's, perhaps someone could take a group picture of all these 19th century coins for the archives. Then everyone could get their coins back.
