new quattro user

Try a sensitivity of 16, low trash, all metal mode. Focus more on audio than on the display. Sweep slowly(three foot sweep from one side to the other should take 2-3 seconds). But once you get that hight tone check the display. You might want to dig various targets just to get familiar with all the different targets and associated tones/VDI's.

Good luck

Mirage...you couldn't be any more on the money with that advice. The sweep speed is so important on any detector, even more so with the Quattro.

Try a test garden of the coins you expect to find, it'll give you a head start on IDing the coins from a visual aspect, but don't underestimate the signals also. After a good rain, targets seems to have a way of being more easily detected with the Quattro.
