New project occupying my time...can't wait to finish and get the detector back out!

The first picture is of the tank before I decided to overhaul it. The rest are the progress of the "Do It Yourself Styrofoam Background" I decided to build. It's going to be a month before the PH levels back down and I can start planting and putting fish in again.

That is really going to look sharp when finished. How about some underwater LED lighting? Koi and goldfish are pretty PH resistant, you might not have to wait so long. We have a lot of Koi.....not near as many as last year, we gave away probably 100 of them.

I used to breed Koi and vowed to never again mess with them if my life depended on it. I'll wait the month and get some cichlids.

Your tank is looking good. Is it a 125? What species of cichlids are you thinking on keeping. If you enjoy looking at pics of them go to http://www.aquabid.com and check out the fish.

Im either going to do electric blue jack dempseys or smaller south american cichlids. The tank is a 125 gallon but with the water displacement its much smaller.

Some of the most fun fish I had many years ago were Oscars. I had three pretty good sized ones and one learned to ring a bell to get fed. I had to take the chain out at night or I wouldn't get any sleep.

Very cool. I've always loved fish. We use to have all kinds of tropical fish. I loved watching the mollies and their babies. Before they would be their dinner. Can't wait to see the finished project. HH, Nancy

Please keep us posted on your progress. I would like to see a pic with your fish in the tank when you get to that point.

Looking good.....

Newest update on the project. Substrate in and T5HO lighting hung.

Your tank is really shaping up. I can't wait to see it with the cichlids in there.

Great progress! It's taking shape and looking good.
