Does anyone know when of if Garrett is going to come out with a new 2500 and 1500? Just seems with the new 1350 and Ace series they might be thinking update.

THE REASON I'M ASKING IS THAT I KNOW WHERE I CAN BUY A LIKE NEW 2500 FOR A VERY REASONABLE PRICE. DON'T WANT TO TIE MY MONEY UP IF A NEW ONE IS ON THE WAY. HOW DO YOU KNOW IT'S NOT?
THANKS, RICHARD

Profiling of 1350 with Imaging of the 1500 or 2500.
As Garret gave us a different unit in the 1350..many like its new coil and the ability to use standard Garrett acc.coils and still profile. As far as the 1500 or 2500 they give us our choice and feel they will be around for a long time..We all must remember protoypes are constantly being tested and no one outside of Garrett could give you a 100% answer on that one..Basically why fix what aint broke in the imaging category and just a new unit in profiling with the 1350.Basically would research both as the 2500 is a bit larger and bulkier but well balanced with more features than the smaller 1500...

Last question on this.
Has anyone used both the 2500 and 1350 who could give a comparison as to coin hunting? I've been kicking the tires on both. Western & Eastern just had a glowing field test report on the 1350 which you probably saw too. How would depth compare?
Thanks to all.

Roger, I havent used the 1350, but I do have the 2500. From what I have read the 1350 give you 3 possibilities (for lack of a better term on my part) of what you may have found. Where as the 2500 has 5 different catagories of what you have found. The way I look at it is the profiling says "This could be a coin" the Imaging says "This is a coin" Now dont get me wrong my 2500 has been fooled before. A small piece of crumpled up tin foil will show as a nickel or ring, and other metals small enough near the same conductivity will ring as a penny or dime. But 9 outta 10 times if you have a nice solid tone and it is in the B range you can pretty much bet it is a coin. Plus you have the All Metal mode with the 2500 which has excellent depth that I doubt the 1350 could match so if it is depth your looking for I would suggest the 2500. Just my opinion but I hope this helps.

If you're looking for raw depth the 2500 definitely has the big edge, especially in all metal.
