[size=large]However, 'different' isn't always a bad thing. It can be complimentary.
The Classic series, for example, are designed as "silent-search' from the get-go, while the M6 is a "silent-search' simply because it's a threshold-based model, with the threshold set just below the audible sound. The same as turning an MXT threshold control down just a little bit from a 'proper' slight-audio sound.
Also, you can see how quickly the Classic series will respond when the coil is slowly moved across a target. Sweep the center line of the coil directly over a coin laying on dirt at about 3". The Classic models have a rather quick response. Now, compare the former Prizm series models with some competitive models, like a Bounty Hunter or a Garrett, and you will easily note that they have a somewhat delayed response. Grabbing an MXT or M6 and the response is almost instantaneous as the coil is swept across the targets. I hope to check one out again this weekend and compare, but my initial impression of the Prizm 6T was that is it at least similar to the excellent Classic series response.
As for the coil, I like the 9" spider coil on the Prizm compared with the fat-body 950, the rod mount point is slightly more forward toward the coils center and that improves the balance. The rear-mount battery system makes it balance quite well. I'll have to check the backlight out in the dark and see the intensity. It's just an On/Off function w/o brightness control.
We ought to have some interesting reading in the months to come as more and more people put it to use.
