New precision riding team just formed...

The 107th Agricultural Precision Riding Team was formed in Buckingham, Virginia.

While shopping in Farmville, my daughter Katie saw this John Deere battery powered 4-wheeler before Christmas. She really took a liking to it, because it looked just like Dad's machine; and she pointed out what a great asset it would be if she had a 4 wheeler of her own, to help her dad with all the chores he does. Like picking up the sticks in the front yard that blow out of the trees, and hauling firewood out of the woods. She actually drove a pretty good bargain. We couldn't afford to get it for Christmas, but we did surprise her with it yesterday... you should've seen the look on her face.

This thing is pretty neat, it has 2 forward gears, and reverse. First gear goes 2 1/2 mph, high gear goes 5 mph, which is twice as fast as an average walk. In the higher gear, it even burns rubber when you push on the accelerator (well, spins on the grass, anyway!).

I showed Katie how to operate the 4 wheeler, how the gears work, how the dump bed works, and the accelerator pedal, which also acts as an automatic brake when not being pushed. Then I helped her on some precisiond driving skills...

In this first picture, we are idling at "PARADE REST!". I told her to look cool... the little victory finger thing I guess she came up with on her own.

DISMOUNT... HO! We drove down to the front yard where all the limbs had blown out of the tree. We also worked on our precision dismount. After we filled her dump bed up with sticks, we are on our way to the woods to dispose of them.

"COLUMN TO THE LEFT... HO!" She was a real trooper, even if she did giggle and laugh a lot.

Formation riding to the dump site (with a little bit of idle chit chat when the General wasn't looking).

Here's Katie in her off hours, when she's not training for pecision riding. Zipping around the yard, and having a ball. Notice if you will, the essential candy canes at the back of the dump; this girl is always prepared.

Hello Vernon,

Fantastic photographs!

They are truly heartwarming.

Both Nutty Teachers in our home enjoyed the pictures immensely.

Thank you for sharing.

Respectfully,

The Nutty Teachers,

Katie looks more at ease driving than Pop does.

your hair looks very natural today, i am beginning to think that Charlie was wrong about you wearing a toupee.

did you join Hair club for men?:rofl::rofl:
