New pi pro

Well i finally got a all water detector today, a pi pro with a bouyant coil, unfortunately. Any suggestions on this?

My fear is theres gonna be a lot of digging.

I have the same PI and I don't have an issue with holding it down.. I hold my detector just below the S in the shaft... even the new DF PI that I use now floats a little and doesn't bother me in the least.. What you can do to keep the coil flopping around is to put a coil stabilizer on it, its all I did.

I made a load on Dual Field loop and difference is huge.
I ll post a pic later.

With PI you WILL dig alot! Only people who LOVE to dig buy PI. I bought because I love!!!

Thanks for comments:

I hope to post some pictures of my first finds when i get a camera sorted.

Does anybody have a suggestion with the 'O' ring with regards to sealing, ie petroleum jelly?

Diver's silicone only DO NOT use petroleum jelly it will degrade the O-ring and cause the unit to leak.

BDA:cool:

Thanks,

Ill have a look for some.

I have never put anything on the O ring all I do when I change the batterys is run a soft tissue along the O ring to make sure its clean... I also keep a silica gel packet inside the case because I hunt in cold water during the winter months... I don't know if it helps but it sure hasn't hurt :)
