New Park and a Wheatie

I decided to try a new park today. I'm not sure when it was opened (sometime after 1962) but before that it was a farm. Because it's in a major city I had plenty of trash to deal with but I did manage to have a good hunt. In about 2 hours I found 42 'reasonable' targets (I don't count the trash). I was happy to hit on this 1947 wheatie which is in pretty good shape. The crucifix rung up in the low silver range but I don't think there is any silver in it. It might have been silver plated because I do see some bright metal flecks on it. Always fun to find something new. Lots more ground to cover there so I have high hopes.

I just love those little crosses. I must have found a dozen of them in the last 10 years. What really fascinates me is the variety of metals used. Several were copper, 2 were marked sterling, and I have one each stamped 8K, 10K and 14K. All the gold ones were found with the M6.
