Weather is still bad, so I figured I would finish the new mouse trap and have it ready.

Here it it, you remember I switched to a better class box and this really made a nice unit.

I am sewing new back hanging nylon strap deal now, should have it ready by next weekend, in the mean time, this baby is back into the back back for a few days.

Drill two holes

One for headphone plug

One for coil wire to enter box

hi max i,m impressed by your orange box , is the reason you are doing this because the gt is a better detector than the exc.i have a gt + exc + i wish i could waterproof my gt because i am sure its far better than the exc,i only go in the water to my waist but when i swap from gt to exc i keep thinking how poor the signals sound + i am convinced the gt is better.i live in wales [u.k.]+i would appreciate it if you could possibly list ingredients for the orange box [maybe radio shack ref. nos.]+ i will build one for myself.is your reason for building it the same as mine cheers alun

just buy to cable clams

one for coil wire and one for headphone plug

buy two of these

or u can buy female ikelite plug like is on your excal. battery pod, use it for headphones.............then u use waterproof grayghost phones and the will come with male ikelikte plug

thanks for the reply i guess i can get these parts in the uk but i,m not sure where to buy the orange box, i saw an earlier post of yours with a clear box that could carry a spare battery is this the mark 2 version + will this one hold a spare battery cheers alun

i would have to have added a coil extension deal to it like my old expII box-version one

somebody said u can get the clams on ebay for less, i buy mine at west marine................any good boat shop should have them, they come in 3 sizes..............i used the medium size

here is the extension deal i mentions...........made from pvc 2" adapter for plumbing
